My Singapore Pledge 2012

Consultation for organizers Tampines Changkat Community Club & Tampines Junior College

Date: 25 May – 17 Aug 2012
Time:

2.00pm - 5.00pm

Location: Intensive Workshops: Tampines Junior College
Storytelling Competition: Tampines Library

Kamini was approached by MP Ms Irene Ng of Tampines Changkat to share her ideas for this project focusing on S.Rajaratnam's Singapore Pledge.

As part of her contribution to this project, Kamini conducted 2 intensive storytelling workshops ( of 3-hours duration each) for student participants ranging from Primary - Secondary levels (50 - 70 pax). These workshops (25th May & 13th July) were held at Tampines Junior College.

The intensive workshops focused on preparing students for the final Storytelling Competition - to be held at Tampines Library auditorium on Aug 17th 2012.

Students were guided in internalizing their story as opposed to memorization and not being a slave to the script but to fully own their story.

Students were trained in posture alignment, body stances, breathing exercises, vocal exercises, voice projection, eye contact, gestures, expression and other tricks of the trade.

Students were taken through a series of structured activities to learn and internalize their story.

Kamini advised on the rubrics for the competition judging.
