Storytelling with Art Response
Storytelling session for children with facilitated Art Response activity
A structured session for Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund beneficiaries
Date: | 22 – 24 May 2012 |

Location: | Ang Mo Kio Family Service Centre Whispering Hearts Family Service Centre at Jurong West |
In these two separate storytelling sessions, Kamini shared a variety of stories suitable for children from Primary 5 level followed with an Art Response activity.
Art Response is different to craft-making or definite art direction.
The children were provided with a variety of materials ranging from paper to coloured writing implements to respond to the various stories they had just listened to.
Engaging in a simple Art Response activity can be calming, soothing and liberating for many of us.
It is also a wonderful follow-up activity after a storytelling session.
The centres / children were encouraged to keep / display their individual art responses.
