S. Rajaratnam Leadership Series Storytelling Competition

Kamini trains student participants

Date: 16 – 18 Jul 2014
Time:

2.00pm - 5.30pm

Location: Tampines Junior College

In 2012, Kamini was approached by MP Ms Irene Ng of Tampines Changkat to share her ideas for the S. Rajaratnam Leadership Series storytelling competition. This lead to a collaboartion with Tampines Junior College in providing storytelling training for the student participants.

Workshop for Primary students: Wed 16th July

Workshop for Secondary students: Fri 18th July

The intensive workshops focuses on preparing students for the final Storytelling Competition - to be held at Tampines Junior College auditorium on Aug 29th 2014.

Students are guided in internalizing their story as opposed to memorization and not being a slave to the script but to fully own their story.

Students are trained in posture alignment, body stances, breathing exercises, vocal exercises, voice projection, eye contact, gestures, expression and other tricks of the trade.

Students are taken through a series of structured activities to learn and internalize their story.

Kamini advised on the rubrics for the competition judging.
